Financials

The Financials section gives you a detailed view of your selected company's financial statements, and ratios, allowing you to conduct in-depth financial analysis.

Getting Started with Financials

When you navigate to the Financials section, you'll find a comprehensive set of charts and tables for analyzing financial performance. The interface is designed to be intuitive, allowing you to quickly access the information you need.

At the top of the page, you can select from four main categories:

  • Income Statement
  • Balance Sheet
  • Cash Flows
  • Ratios

Financial Statements

Income Statement

The Income Statement shows your selected company's revenue, expenses, and profits over time:

The Income Statement view offers two options:

  • Key Metrics: A focused view of the most important income statement metrics
  • Full Statement: A comprehensive view of the entire income statement

Key metrics typically include:

  • Revenue
  • Cost of Revenue
  • Gross Profit
  • Operating Expenses
  • Operating Income
  • Net Income

You can view the Income Statement in different time periods (Annual, Quarterly, or LTM) and compare periods side-by-side to identify trends.

Balance Sheet

The Balance Sheet provides a snapshot of your selected company's assets, liabilities, and shareholders' equity:

  • Key Metrics: A focused view of the most important balance sheet metrics
  • Assets: A detailed breakdown of the company's assets
  • Liabilities & Equity: A detailed breakdown of the company's liabilities and shareholders' equity

Key metrics typically include:

  • Total Assets
  • Total Liabilities
  • Shareholders' Equity
  • Cash and Equivalents
  • Total Debt

The Balance Sheet helps you assess a company's financial health, liquidity position, and capital structure.

Cash Flow Statement

The Cash Flow Statement shows how cash moves through the business:

  • Key Metrics: A focused view of the most important cash flow metrics
  • Full Statement: A comprehensive view of the entire cash flow statement

Key metrics typically include:

  • Operating Cash Flow
  • Capital Expenditures
  • Free Cash Flow
  • Cash from Investing
  • Cash from Financing

The Cash Flow Statement helps you understand a company's ability to generate cash, fund operations, and finance growth.

Financial Ratios

The Ratios section provides a comprehensive set of financial ratios to help you evaluate a company's performance:

The Ratios view offers three categories:

  • Margins: Profitability ratios such as Gross Margin, Operating Margin, and Net Margin
  • Growth: Growth rates for key metrics like Revenue, EBITDA, and Net Income
  • Leverage: Net Debt to EBITDA

These ratios help you assess a company's profitability, efficiency, financial health, and growth trajectory.

Configuration Options

The Financials section includes several configuration options to customize your analysis:

  1. Periods to Show: Control how many periods (quarters or years) are displayed in the tables
  2. Reset/Max Buttons: Quickly reset to the default number of periods or expand to show the maximum available
  3. SEC Reports: Access official SEC filings (10-K/10-Q) directly from the interface

Using Financials Effectively

Here are some tips to get the most out of the Financials section:

  1. Compare Time Periods: Use the period selectors to view data across different timeframes (Annual, Quarterly, LTM)
  2. Analyze Trends: Look for trends in key metrics like revenue growth, margins, and returns
  3. Benchmark Performance: Compare metrics against industry peers and sector averages
  4. Customize Views: Adjust the display settings to focus on the metrics most relevant to your analysis
  5. Combine with Other Sections: Use the financial data alongside other Booga tools like Estimates and Benchmark for a more complete analysis
